Ovomaltine Muffin.

I JUST MADE MY FIRST MUFFIN AND IT TASTES GOOD OMG I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF! Yeah, masih sedikit keras dan padat sih texturenya, tapi not bad for a first timer ;)

So here's the ingredients:
  • 2 large eggs.
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter.
  • 2 cups all purpose flour.
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or 1/2 depends on your sweet appetite).
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened).
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk or fresh milk (I used buttermilk).
  • 1 sachet chocolate powder (I used Ovomaltine drink powder eventho' most chef wouldn't recommend us to use drink chocolate/milk).
You also need:
  • Cupcakes/muffins patty case (paper).
  • Cupcakes/muffins baking tray.
Baking instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200˚ C.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate powder in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Remove from the heat.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, hand mix; add buttermilk, hand mix; pour the melted butter & chocolate powder, hand mix, stir to blend. Oh by hand mix I mean please use your spatula not your hands.
  • Blend the batter using low-speed electric mixer, about 3 minutes.
  • In this step, if you want to add more "accessories" to your muffins, you can add chopped chocolate, MnM's, raisins, or whatever. Do not over mix the batter then :)
  • Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups. Bake for about 20 minutes. Inserted a knife into the centre of your muffins, it it comes out clean, your muffins are ready! Or you have to put them back into the oven and bake them for 10-20 minutes.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before carefully applying Ovomaltine Crunchy Cream as the topping.

♥, Me.
